Title of Position: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Full Time Non Unit – Bilingual Preferred
Work Year: September - June
Effective Date of
Employment: 2024-2025 School Year
Salary: According to the Non-unit Therapist Salary schedule - based on clinical experience and education:
Range starts at Associates Step 1 - $37,285
Range ends at Bachelors Step 8 - $58,255
Organizational Structure: Clinically supervised by an ASHA certified, state board licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP); responsible for other instructional and general duties as indicated by the Director of Special Education, Principal of the Building, directives of the Superintendent of Schools, or his/her designees and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Statement of Duties: Carries out these tasks under the direction of a Supervising Speech-Language Pathologist:
- Assist speech-language screenings (without interpretation)
- Assist with informal documentation as directed by the supervisor
- Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervisor
- Document student performance (service documentation, progress reports, annual IEP reports)
- Prepare materials and schedule activities for direct therapy
Qualifications:
- Speech Assistant License through the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Division of Professional Licensure, Commonwealth of Massachusetts
