Summer Program: Bartlett School & Assessment Center - Grades K-12
Dates/Hours:
June 30th - August 7th
Monday - Thursday
7:45 am - 2:15 pm
Subject to change based on student enrollment; start and stop times
Salary:
$40.00/hr - DESE Licensed
$30.00/hr - Non-Licensed
Organizational Relationship
or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Summer Coordinator and/or the Executive Director of Student Support Services and/or his/her designee
Statement of Duties:
- Prepare curriculum, lessons, schedules, and activities in accordance with goals and objectives of children assigned to the class.
- Oversee the IEP for provision of additional services, i.e., Speech Therapy, O.T., P.T., etc.
- Work with therapists to facilitate integrated therapies, small group, or individual therapies.
- Plan with therapists to carry over therapy interventions in the class.
- Work as a member of a coordinated program team including other teachers, educational support staff personnel, therapists, etc.
- Encourage parent involvement, maintain parent contact.
- Direct classroom educational support personnel activities, and interactions with students.
- Maintain all necessary records as per school system requirements.
- Provide a safe, healthy environment inside and outside for all children.
- Responsible for other general duties as indicated by the teacher, principal, supervisors/directors, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
- Master’s Degree in Special Education preferred.
- Licensed as a Teacher of Children with Special Needs, or Moderate or Severe Disabilities by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred.
- Successful experience working with students with disabilities and/or learning disabilities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
