What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Yacht Hauler position at Barton and Gray Mariners Club?
Job Summary :
Barton & Gray is offering a unique role that combines long haul driving between our summer and winter ports with hands-on involvement in the daily operation of our service department. Due to the seasonal nature of our business time off requests for this role will be granted outside B&G's transport seasons.
Responsibilities :
Safely haul Barton & Gray boats using company semi-trailer and other trucks
Assist with loading, unloading, and positioning boats for storage and launch
Work in the Yachtshop when not hauling, helping with vehicle and trailer upkeep projects and other service department specific tasks, including but not limited to :
Facilitate maintenance semi-trailer truck and equipment
Facilitate maintenance on both hydraulic and low boy trailer when necessary
Help shop team on fleet vehicles and travel lift maintenance
Assist with preparation of scheduling and planning for boat movements
Keep vehicles and facilities clean, safe, and ready for action
Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations to ensure safety and compliance
Contribute to a variety of duties that keep daily operations running smoothly
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills, Abilities & Education :
A minimum of 3 years of Class A CDL driving experience preferred
Valid, unencumbered Class A CDL license endorsement
A clean driving and safety record
Valid DOT medical certification
Demonstrated knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance
An interest in boats and a desire to work hands-on in marine settings
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work around boats
A team-oriented attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Demonstrated ability to work alone and remotely
Experience working in a maritime yard where attention to detail and safety are paramount
