Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in cardiothoracic surgeries as a first assistant
- Provide critical care coverage in CICU and CVICU
- Perform endoscopic vein harvesting procedures
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care
- Conduct patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals
- Respond to emergencies and manage complex patient cases
- Utilize Epic EMR system for patient documentation
- Participate in rounds and patient education
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgery and critical care
- Adapt to the demands of a potentially high-volume, high-acuity environment
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department
Additional Information:
- Minimum of 3 years first assist experience required
- ICU coverage experience, specifically in CICU and CVICU, is essential
- Endoscopic vein harvesting experience is mandatory
- Experience in a Trauma center is highly desirable
