Barton County is looking for talented individuals open to working with citizens in emergency situations and with first responders……from a safe distance. Communications officers utilize radios, computers and telephone lines to receive and dispatch messages to highly trained professionals. What’s required? High School diploma or GED, shift work, multi-tasking, passing a security background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical assessment. You’ll receive training to help you obtain the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification (within six months of hire) and Emergency Medical Dispatch and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation CPR certifications (within first year of hire).
