Marine Technician
Barton and Gray Mariners Club has revolutionized yachting with a fleet of 80 Hinckley and custom vessels serving a private membership in harbors along the East Coast and Great Lakes. Our growing service team based in Connecticut and South Florida is seeking an experienced Marine Technician to join its mobile service team. The individual will have an extensive marine repair background and be able to perform mechanical, electrical and some outfitting repairs and preventative maintenance on our fleet of Hinckley powerboats. The location of this position varies with seasonality of Barton & Gray. Generally, the position will be based in the north during the summer season and in Florida each winter.
Responsibilities
Travel to harbors to repair B&G fleet vessels
Maintain a clean and tidy service support vehicle
Maintain spare parts inventory for the service vehicle
Answer incoming service calls
Maintain B&G vessels to USCG T-Boat regulations
Manage expense tracking for all Parts/Materials purchases made on Corporate CC
Maintain a good working relationship with Captains and other support staff
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Marine technician
Marine trade school/ Engine certification preferred
Knowledge of Hinckley & jet drive yachts strongly preferred
Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience preferred
Organized, self motivated individual with the ability to work independently
Weekend availability for on call
Valid, unencumbered drivers license
Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb up and down vertical stairways and ladders
Ability to step over a doorsill or combing of 24 inches in height
Ability to move into and out of small spaces that may require crouching, kneeling or crawling
Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground and be able to carry, push or pull the same load
Ability to stand intermittently with minimal rest periods for eight hours
