What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Worker position at Barton & Gray Mariners Club?
Barton and Gray Mariners Club has revolutionized yachting with a fleet of 80 Hinckley and custom vessels serving a private membership in harbors along the East Coast and Great Lakes. Our growing service team is seeking a Yard Worker in our Barton and Gray Yacht Shop, based out of North Stonington, Connecticut. The individual will have a preferred marine and yachting background and be able to perform general yard maintenance on our fleet of Hinckley power boats. This role requires attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: sanding, buffing, painting, and parts removal.
- Support Marine Technicians and other Service workers with tasks such as:
- Performs other related duties, as necessary.
- Help maintain general cleanliness of The Shop.
- Physically equipped to climb ladders and work from heights at times.
Qualifications
Prior experience as a Marine Yard Worker is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of Hinckley yachts strongly preferred.
Organized, self motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to make minor repairs if needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
