What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Barton Institute for Community Action?
About the Barton Institute and the Position
The Barton Institute for Community Action works with its partners to create safe community spaces where people can build lives with more opportunity to thrive.
The Barton Institute is the fiscal sponsor for various rapidly-growing local nonprofit organizations. In that role, we provide “back office” operations, including accounting, payroll, benefits, human resources, insurance, banking, and more for our program partners. We anticipate adding more program partners this year. In addition, the Barton Institute launched the Pathways Program in 2024. This program engages social sector leaders with historically marginalized identities (BIPOC, LGTBQ , and leaders with disabilities) in a one-year mentoring relationship with a mentor who shares similar lived experiences and professional expertise.
The Accounting Clerk will help this fast-growing organization by working with the Controller and the Director of Operations to develop and maintain financial systems to support the complex work of the Barton Institute and its partners. The Accounting Clerk reports to the Controller.
