POSITION TITLE: Learning Support Specialist for the 2025-2026 School Year
LOCATION(S): Pine Log ES
START DATE: July 23, 2025
JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides support, training, and monitoring of the Response to Intervention (RtI) process and leading professional development for all tiers in the process. Responsible for all paperwork, scheduling, and monitoring of progress for students within the tiers plus planning and implementation for extensions and enrichment of learning. Serves as school contact and liaison for Student Support Team (SST) and maintains data with regards to both SST and RtI for the school served. Provides teacher support for interventions in the classroom and checks for fidelity to address gaps in learning and to determine necessary training. Supports teachers in a non-evaluator role with collaborative teams. Serves as a counseling department support while being responsible for PBIS at the school and intervenes with attendance concerns as part of the PBIS process. Maintains the confidentiality of the school, teachers and students. Supports the philosophy and mission of the Bartow County School System. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Must hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate. Minimum of three years teaching experience; administration or counseling certification preferred.
SKILLS: Personal characteristics and professional competencies to work successfully with students, teachers, administrators and parents. Excellent interpersonal and strong organizational skills. Comfortable and experience in leading and facilitating groups. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience with analyzing and interpreting data as well as utilizing student information systems to extract data for planning purposes. Strong computer skills to include Excel and Word.
