Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including eye examinations, diagnosis of visual disorders, and management of ocular diseases. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect ocular diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments based on patient needs.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens usage, and visual health.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices, technologies, and medical terminology.
- Provide exceptional customer service to enhance the patient experience.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with modern eye care techniques and equipment
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain scientific information to patients
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus
- Listening skills
- Attention to detail
Education and training requirements
- Generally, Optometrists should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and a doctorate in optometry. They also must be licensed through the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and sometimes through the state, depending on where the Optometrist will be practicing. They need to complete continuing education to maintain their Optometrist’s license. Some Optometrists can take an exam with the American Board of Optometry to prove an in-depth understanding of their field and become board certified.
Physical Demands
- This is a physical position that will require standing on your feet, and walking. This would require the ability sit, walk, bend or stand as necessary, and ability to lift up to 25lbs.

Pay: $141,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
