WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE :
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position supports plant operations in all areas of production. This position is responsible for effective and positive management of the maintenance team. This position is also responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises maintenance crew and performs a variety of personnel functions
- Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and preventive maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
- Able to perform operational startups and shutdowns of critical equipment.
- Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing process machinery and equipment.
- Regularly preforms and documents inspections of personnel, process, and equipment.
- Monitors and maintains preventative maintenance activities.
- Evaluate and maintains equipment parts inventories and orders parts and components as required.
- Evaluates production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments in cooperation with plant management and operations.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Regularly interacts with the safety department improving operations.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints and schematics to workers and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, and work crew.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Determines when machinery should be shut down and repaired.
- Ability to plan, oversee, and work with outside contractors and vendors.
- Regularly facilitates pre-shift and safety meetings.
- Regularly meets with the Plant Manager
- Forklift and other equipment operation is required
- Maintains work area clean and clutter free per company standards
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
- Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
