Mechanical Engineering Intern
Job description
Part time position for 3D modelling, thermal system analysis, and compressor development. It is expected that the position will consist of 40 hours during the summer with the potential of 20 during the fall semester if continued. This position has the possibility of leading to long term permanent employment with Bascom Hunter Technologies.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in experiments, data collection, and analysis
- Research concepts and help formulate solutions to address technical challenges in the field of thermal systems and precision rotating machinery
- Analyze designs and write reports
- Draft designs and packaging models in SolidWorks
- Assist in build out and development of thermal systems lab
Qualifications:
- Permanent resident or US citizen only
- Self-motivated individual
- Junior or Senior level college student studying Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with software programming desired
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Preference for candidates with work history
This is a full-time or part-time, paid internship opportunity, depending on whether this is a summer (full-time) or non-summer (part-time) role. Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's availability.
