What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain / Finance Intern - Baton Rouge position at Bascom Hunter Technologies?
We are seeking a supply chain/ finance intern to join our team at Bascom Hunter. The intern will work on various projects related to procuring parts for R&D efforts and managing supply chain logistics related to manufacturing. This role will require communicating with outside vendors and customers, setting up schedules, and working closely with various roles within Bascom Hunter.
Bascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. We are a fast-growing company with two main divisions, BH Tech and Xcelaero.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a supply-chain related field, or finance/accounting related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- [Preferred] Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to defense applications.
- U. S. citizenship required
Responsibilities:
- Receiving- Ensuring all material is received correctly and that it arrived in the condition expected
- Purchase Order Placement- Communicating to outside vendors to place orders for any material needed to facilitate Bascom Hunter’s goals. Working with internal teams to ensure proper quantities and correct delivery schedules.
- Vouchers- Ensuring all payments are finalized and properly documented.
- Determining optimal order/ delivery schedules- working with operations/ engineering to ensure internal goals can be achieved and always maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Documentation- learning about proper documentation, both internally and externally controlled
- Collaboration- Bascom Hunter is a small company. This role will provide the opportunity to work closely with multiple other functions, including marketing, sales, engineering, operations, finance, and business development.
This is a full-time or part-time, paid internship opportunity, depending on whether this is a summer (full-time) or non-summer (part-time) role. Start and end dates are flexible based on the intern's availability.
