Position overview:
Safely transports materials (mostly structural steel members) between Fabrication Shop and construction sites or steel mill and other suppliers.
Key Responsibility:
- Drives large flatbed trailer between supplier locations, Fabrication Shop, and construction sites.
- Unloads trucks with structural steel to eventually be used at the erection site.
- Secures site foreman’s signature on shipping tickets and audits and signs shipping documents at supplier’s location.
- Adheres to all safety and traffic regulations.
- Maintains an accurate trip log, knowledge of EOB.
- Performs minor preventive maintenance on the vehicle and keeps management informed on mechanical or safety truck related considerations.
- Ensures that loads are both secure and transportable.
- Other duties may be assigned.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Able to operate semi-trucks and has current CDL license, valid in the State of Texas. With a clean driving record.
- Able to unload trucks safely at jobsite with a forklift.
- Has comprehensive understanding of rules, regulations and operations of large trucks including oversized loads.
- Knows how to properly secure loads on flatbed trucks.
- Able to review, understand and complete basic shipping documentation.
