Base is looking for a Global Supply Manager to source and own supplier relationships, support new and existing product development and manufacture, and to implement industry-leading sourcing strategy. This role will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to execute our product roadmap. The primary scope of this role is PCBA component and assembly sourcing.
Responsibilities:
Base is looking for a Global Supply Manager to source and own supplier relationships, support new and existing product development and manufacture, and to implement industry-leading sourcing strategy. This role will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams to execute our product roadmap. The primary scope of this role is PCBA component and assembly sourcing.
Responsibilities:
- Create and run request for proposals (RFP).
- Develop should-cost models.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier partnerships.
- Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies for existing and new products.
- Ensure that suppliers are prepared to support all prototype builds to support rapid product development, ramp up, and mass production.
- Present recommendations on contract award, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies and critical supply issues.
- 3 years sourcing experience in a similar role.
- Strong excel and spreadsheet skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible mindset and temperament.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Average 25% travel.
- Technical procurement experience with power electronics and semiconductors.
- Strong record of applying first principles thinking toward supplier negotiations.
- Strong record of managing successful escalations up to the executive level within a supplier.
- Strong record of managing large suppliers through new product development.
- Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
