Base is looking for a highly motivated, intellectually curious, mission-driven software engineer to join our markets team. During your internship you'll be tasked with important problems for the business and expected to deliver just like any other full-time member of the team.
Internship areas (please indicate all areas you are interested in) :
Algorithms and Optimization : At Base, we operate a fleet of distributed energy resources that interacts with the Texas electricity market. We are looking for an intern to assist with the design and implementation of sequential decision algorithms for trading energy and ancillary services. Responsibilities will include :
- Developing decision algorithms for trading a fleet of energy storage resources in ERCOT.
- Validating physics and economics models used for testing algorithms in a simulation environment.
- Implementing and deploying new algorithms to the production stack.
Risk and Trading : At Base, we also enter into financial contracts designed to hedge against the risk imposed by volatile electricity markets. We are looking for an intern to assist with identifying and evaluating new financial products. Responsibilities will include :
