What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Fitness Coach position at Basecamp Fitness?
Duties & Responsibilities
· Must facilitate a high energy premium class experience that keeps our members coming back daily. Coaches play a vital role in filling classes and bringing Basecamp’s programming to life.
· Must understand and be able to explain Basecamp’s training programs and the science that supports the Basecamp Fitness workouts
· Must be able to juggle the needs of first-time guests while continuing to challenge veteran Basecampers. This includes creating opportunities for connection before during and after class, managing class intensity, and efficiently facilitating class flow
· Coaches are responsible for quickly identifying and correcting exercise form to prevent injuries as well as appropriately modifying, progressing and regressing movements for individual participants.
· Coaches are expected to work as a team with the front desk to facilitate a premium experience for first time guests. This includes “handoffs” at the start of class and “hand backs” and the end of class. Coaches need to be able to provide professional recommendations to link Basecamp’s programming with a guest’s fitness goals and abilities
· Willing to attend periodic team meetings and training
Required Skills
· Ability to create immediate rapport with new clients and ongoing rapport with existing members. Coaches must be friendly, approachable, and genuinely interested in people.
· A strong motivator who knows how to bring the energy and keep a group connected throughout the class
· Fundamental understanding of basic exercise technique, progressions, regressions and modifications· Must have the desire to train clients at all levels with a wide range of fitness goals
· Punctual and detail oriented
· Self-starter, able to own the class from start to finish without management or supervision. Shows up to create an impact and is actively engaged every second on the clock (before/during/after class)
· Desire to collaborate

· Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills; Internally - must be responsive and communicate class coverage in reasonable timeframes
Required Qualifications· Minimum Education & Knowledge
o High school diploma or General Education Degree required
o Must hold and maintain a current fitness certification from a Basecamp Fitness approved training program. Preferred certification (NCAA accredited fitness certifications) ACSM, ACE, AFAA, NASM, NCSF, NESTA, NETA, NSCA, PTAG, CI
o Must hold and maintain a current CPR & AED certification
o Note: Prior to hire, applicant must complete and pass the Basecamp Fitness Coaches Course and audition process.
· Minimum Work Experience
o 6 months of experience leading group workouts or 1:1 personal training required
o On-Microphone teaching experience preferred
· Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
o Fitness Coaches are leaders of the Basecamp Fitness workouts. This requires them to talk, hear, and remain on their feet while leading and instructing members for the entirety of the workout. In the weight room, coaches must demonstrate all exercises for members which can involve bosu balls, medicine balls, dumbbells, TRX straps, barbells, kettlebells, plyo boxes, ladders, resistance bands. Must be able to safely lift and move all studio equipment. Physical effort required for daily duties also include bending, squatting, reaching, spotting, and re-racking weights.
o Willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
