Available Shifts:- 2nd shift Tue-Sat 1-9
As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide individualized peer support services to individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges. You will play a key role in enhancing recovery outcomes by offering hope, advocacy, and shared lived experience within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide one-on-one and group peer support services
- Offer coaching, encouragement, and guidance throughout the recovery process
- Assist patients in accessing and navigating personal and community resources
- Help build formal and informal community support systems
- Support development of healthy social networks, including family and peers
- Provide crisis support and encouragement during difficult times
- Advocate for patient rights and reduce stigma around behavioral health
- Collaborate with care teams, family members, and community providers
- Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions, and case conferences
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all ethical and professional standards
- Participate in staff development and agency committees
- Understand and adhere to agency policies, including the Housing Manual
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Certified Peer Supporter (required)
- Knowledge of Franklin County resources (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
