Basepoint Building Automations is hiring a Programmer to support security systems operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and integrating access control and IP video surveillance systems at a complex, high-traffic client location. You'll work hands-on with both hardware and software, collaborating with end users to ensure systems are running smoothly and intuitively.

What You’ll Do:
- Program and test Security Access Control and IP Video Surveillance systems
- Assist with installation and commissioning of system software, servers, and workstations
- Troubleshoot issues with cameras, card readers, and other system hardware
- Integrate third-party systems to create seamless, user-friendly platforms
- Build Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for system interaction
- Participate in walk-throughs, system demos, and end-user training
- Maintain documentation to support future troubleshooting
- Respond to service calls and participate in an on-call rotation
- Stay current on industry standards and new product capabilities
What You Bring:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Proven basic understanding of:
- Electrical theory and wiring
- Security system controls and IP video surveillance concepts
- Networking fundamentals, including IP addressing
- Microsoft Server, SQL Server, and client systems
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints
- Understanding of multimeter functions for troubleshooting AC/DC voltage, resistance and continuity
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented, thorough, and proactive in solving problems
- Enjoy being on-site and working directly with end users
- Comfortable switching between software and hardware tasks
- Desire to grow your technical skillset in real-world environments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily to Iowa City
