Board/DCS Operator– Geismar, LA
Where the Chemistry Happens…
This position is responsible for conducting the daily activities related to the manufacturing operations of the chemical facility.
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success: You Will…
- Operator responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:
- Commitment to never compromise on safety and proactively support environmental and safety culture
- Responsible for operation of DCS board
- Responsible for safe and efficient operation of inside and outside work activity associate with production of products within a process unit.
- Working within the scope of procedures and instructions
- Participates in and complies with all training and development activities.
- Performs emergency response activities, as required
- Acts in a manner that ensures that all BASF standards are maintained in the areas of safety, environmental, quality manufacturing and individual and team performance
- Assists with the process and equipment troubleshooting
- Ensures data collection using various techniques and devices / documentation of the process, interprets results and responds with appropriate adjustments
- Ensures the proper handling of various materials to comply with corporate, local, state and federal regulations
- Share knowledge and assist other operators
- Direct operators working outside of the unit
Basic Qualifications:
- 3 years chemical manufacturing operations experience
- 6 months experience operating a Distributive Control System
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to work a rotating 12-hour shift
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Successful candidate must be able to pass the BASF pre-employment test
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- PTEC or other post-secondary technical program preferred
- Previous military experience may be considered as years of operations experience.
- Demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a team environment, be results oriented, dependable, and safety conscious.
- Basic computer skills and a comfort level in working with computers are necessary.
- May require eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
