- Providing tailored risk management support to North American large capital projects throughout their lifecycles, including performing duties as Risk Facilitator or Risk Manager, as necessary.
- Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of scope and execution strategies of North American large capital projects through disciplined implementation of the value based engineering process, including but not limited to the facilitation of project workshops and constructability reviews.
- Facilitating technical reviews and other key project meetings, thereby enabling the structured and timely development and advancement of North American large capital projects.
- Collaborating with counterparts from each region globally to define BASF requirements, processes, and tools for risk management and value based engineering which will be codified in global and North American technical rules.
- Developing training to support the global introduction and implementation of changes to risk management and value based engineering requirements, processes, and tools while also delivering the training to North American stakeholders.

Our Corporate Engineering Services team is searching for a Risk Management / Value Based Engineering Coordinator to work in our Houston, TX, or Geismar, LA, offices where we provide the engineering expertise necessary to successfully deliver the strategic projects that allow us to create chemistry for a sustainable future.
As Risk Management / Value Based Engineering Coordinator, you will facilitate and / or execute value based engineering and risk management activities for BASFs North American portfolio of large capital project investments. Additionally, you will champion the BASF capital project value based engineering and risk management processes and ensure their continued development and implementation within BASFs global project processes.
Have earned a bachelors degree in an engineering discipline (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering)
Possess extensive experience successfully managing capital projects valued in excess of $5M ($25M preferred) in the process industries
Have strong facilitation, communication, and leadership skills
Have a strong understanding of capital project risks and mitigation strategies
