We are looking for a Safety Specialist to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Palmyra, MO (Hannibal). Domestic relocation assistance is available, if applicable.

As a Safety Specialist (Occupational and Industrial Hygiene), you will be instrumental in driving and improving the safety performance and culture at the Hannibal Site. As a member of the site Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) Team, you will be actively involved in providing technical expertise and support, regulatory and corporate requirements governance, and interaction with Operations personnel to ensure activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

- Utilizing your strong interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships within the organization, providing coaching and feedback through daily safety contacts and permit audits.
- Using your knowledge in Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene to provide regulatory interpretation and guidance for operations and maintenance activities.
- Leading incident investigations and root cause analysis for on-site incidents to eliminate safety risks.
- Developing, supporting, and leading site and corporate initiatives to address root causes of accidents and drive safety performance improvements.
- Leveraging your education and experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Emergency Response program management to participate in Occupational Safety Assessments and work with the EHS&S Team and Operations personnel to address deficiencies.
- Using your detailed knowledge of Safety and Industrial Hygiene disciplines to develop and maintain policies and procedures for PSM and safety programs.
- Collaborating effectively with others to participate in capital project reviews, hazard assessments, and support construction/maintenance/Turnaround (TAR) efforts.
- Developing and delivering materials for site safety meetings and specific unit activities, maintaining records, and assisting in preparing regulatory reports using your excellent computer and organizational skills.
If you...
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related discipline such as Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, etc.
- Possess advanced degrees (Masters and above) in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, etc. are also a plus.
- Hold professional registration as a CSP, CIH, or the ability to obtain such registration in the future is a plus.
- Have 1-5 years’ experience working in a chemical, petrochemical, or petroleum manufacturing or other related industry setting with an emphasis on Occupational Safety or Industrial Hygiene.
- Ability to travel up to 10%, domestically
