The Group Research Team (RG) is searching for a skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our Testing organization. This challenging opportunity requires expertise in process research, product development, and scale-up to support our esteemed BASF business partners throughout North America.  
As a Testing Supervisor, you will oversee two ACE testing units and manage technical and customer service activities within the team. Collaborating with Refining colleagues and external laboratories, you will analyze data, drive quality improvements, and plan and execute test plans both internally and externally. This role combines supervisory responsibilities with individual contributions, leading the testing efforts for the Refinery Catalyst R&D group.

As a Testing Supervisor Engineer, you create chemistry by...

• Overseeing two micro-testing units (ACE), analyzing data, and reporting results to the R&D and business teams.
• Collaborating with R&D engineering, site EHS personnel, and internal/external contractors to enhance the consistency, reliability, and safety of ACE operations.
• Establishing the statistical reliability of catalyst test methods through appropriate statistical analysis and ensuring that this reliability remains consistent over time.
• Utilizing standard statistical process control techniques to uphold a high level of ACE performance.
• Collaborating with R&D project leaders and FCC technology specialists to define the scope and schedule of CRU testing projects. Providing detailed analysis of testing results and advising on the capabilities and limitations of CRU operations for diverse testing requirements.
• Collaborating with universities and external laboratories by sharing information and samples as needed. 
• Collaborate as needed with key customers.

If you...

•    Hold a Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering with 5 years of experience, or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
•    Have experience supervising or operating testing units.
•    Possess extensive experience in testing unit maintenance and safety requirements.
•    Have experience with process and automatic control software (e.g., LabView).
•    Demonstrate experience with catalyst testing (preferred), though experience with other testing units is acceptable.
•    Maintain a proven track record in operating, troubleshooting, and designing lab or pilot-scale catalyst testing apparatus (preferred).
