We are looking for an technically curious Operations Engineer to join our Coatings team in Greenville, OH to support our E-coat resin and Polywaterborne area. This role does have relocation support.

BASF’s Coatings division is a global expert in the development, production and marketing of innovative and sustainable automotive OEM and refinish coatings, decorative paints as well as applied surface treatments for metal, plastic and glass substrates in a wide range of industries. This portfolio is supplemented by "Beyond Paint Solutions", which enable new applications with innovative surfaces.
As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation and technical support needed to execute the required production plan. You will also demonstrate leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies. You will lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions when problems arise. You will play an important role in optimizing cycle times and working closely with other support groups like Maintenance.

- Demonstrating safety leadership by following all safety procedures and policies, as well as incorporating safety into engineering activities.
- Partnering with Operations to maintain safe operation of assets.
- Identifying and leading projects to debottleneck and/or otherwise improve equipment and processes.
- Providing troubleshooting support for equipment to safely resume production during production issues.
- Providing expertise for equipment on projects.
- Understanding of control systems and automation of assigned equipment.
- Providing technical guidance and root cause analysis facilitation for investigations.
- Have a Bachelors Degree in chemical engineering.
- Are able to support multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Possess excellent analytical/problem solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical, operational, and financial data and develop effective solutions.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have strong computer skills with SAP knowledge a plus.
