- Leading development and distribution of the monthly production forecast.
- Providing modeling assistance for the development of annual financial budgets.
- Performing model validations to improve accuracy by analyzing actual plant performance versus forecast.
- Identify opportunities and support efforts to improve the site optimization models.
- Collaborating with the Commercial Optimization team to develop weekly run plan for the BTP site.
- Maintaining and handling a high degree of confidential information according to contractual obligations.
- Continuously monitor and improve the overall experience of customers by providing timely communication and resolution to customer requests.

- Hold a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of process engineering experience at a petrochemical plant (preferably a Steam Cracker)
- Have at least 3 years of experience with various Optimization tools (Preferably ROMeo, or equivalent experience with other optimization tools such as PRO II, ChemCAD or ProMax)
- Are proficient in computer applications (Excel, database, spreadsheets, Aspen Explorer, VBA)
- Count with strong human relations skills and exceptional customer focus

As a Process Optimization Specialist, you will perform short term optimization of the Port Arthur Site (Cracker and C4 plants) based on available feedstocks and plant constraints. In this role, you will run optimization models to provide guidance on best plant operating condition to maximize profit margins for BTP (BASF Total Petrochemicals).
Additionally, you will collaborate with different stakeholders (Commercial and Site Operations) to ensure adequate representation of business and plant constraints in the modeling efforts.
