Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Area Leader to join our team at BASF.
As a key member of our Extended Leadership Team, you will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and planning production activities across various units.
This role requires effective decision-making, high performance standards, and a strong focus on safety, product quality, and production performance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate employees.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising up to 18 direct reports
- Ensuring all activities are performed in accordance with safety policies and requirements
- Coordinating with supply chain planners and warehouse supervisors
- Developing and documenting procedures for startups, shutdowns, and product changeovers
- Evaluating equipment capabilities and identifying process bottlenecks
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10 years of manufacturing experience (or 14 years with a high school diploma)
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Root cause analysis experience
- Good computer knowledge and SAP experience
