POSITION PURPOSE
The Pharmacy Operations Associate II performs intermediate to complex clerical and administrative support for assigned functions within the pharmacy operations department including third party insurance, help desk, database, and related areas. This job classification requires intermediate knowledge of pharmacy operations and computer systems, customer service practices, ability to process third party insurance claims and independently perform the full range of clerical and administrative support functions in an accurate and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. *Coordinates scheduling logistics for floating pharmacists and technicians and time-off requests for all pharmacy team members.
a. Assists with the development and distribution of weekly schedules.
b. Utilizes company and policy knowledge to fill unexpected openings and may work with outside vendors for staffing needs.
c. Assists in development of tools or process improvements to stream-line process and/ or control costs.
2. *Performs a variety of intermediate technical and administrative support of store pharmacy systems and operations including pre-audit preparation and audit support, and third-party insurance claims inquiries.
3. *Responds to a high volume of routine to complex pharmacy support service requests. Performs root cause analysis, recommends resolution, and provides user with guidance on the steps to resolve issues.
4. *Serves as the communications liaison between department management, stores, and vendors.
5. *Responsible for assigned special projects to analyze, monitor, and update processes and programs with minimal direction from supervisor.
6. *Provides training for pharmacy operating systems and pharmacy operations programs.
7. *Provides administrative support to the Talent Aquisition team during the hiring and onboarding process for retail store pharmacy candidates.
a. Schedules pharmacy compliance training for new hires and may assist in monitoring training completion.
b. Collects and maintains records of vacation and time-off requests and leaves of absence.
c. Assists in the development and provides ongoing administration of policies relating to absences and vacation request handling.
8. *Performs assigned tasks to increase efficiencies, support pharmacy operations programs, and to adhere to policy and procedures, and regulations and laws.
