What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Coordinator position at Basic Home Infusion?
The Compliance Coordinator will assist the Compliance Department with managing the compliance activities of the organization and staff including ensuring compliance with state licensing, organizational training, policies, licensure, and other federal and state regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep track of all state licenses associated with the pharmacy- controlled substance, sterile compounding, pharmacy, DEA, NABP, etc. & the pharmacist in charge licenses
- Keep track of all state home health licensure
- Renew all company pharmacy and home health licenses prior to expiration dates- including confirming information, answering general and disciplinary questions, uploading documents, and paying the invoice.
- Navigate online portals and/or fill out paper applications
- Work with the Director of the Pharmacy, Director of Nursing, and Compliance Department to ensure all licenses are up to date/ information is correct; and the pharmacy regulations for each state are up to date
- Renew business registrations & file new applications as necessary
- Assist with site inspection paperwork
- Assist with updating company policies and procedures
- Keep current with applicable pharmacy statute & regulation changes for all licensed states
- Manage and maintain exclusion checking database and nurse license expiration dates
- Manage and maintain compliance training software
- Maintain and manage documents in company’s contract management software
- Assists the Compliance Department as necessary with various projects
- Complies with all company applicable policies and procedures and supports the Compliance Program
- Contributes to organizational operations by performing other duties as may be required
- Assist compliance department in auditing and monitoring activities
- Assist in monthly reporting for Compliance department
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Associates or Bachelors Degree required
- Knowledge of excel and working with multiple spreadsheets
- Ability to navigate state web portals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Notary stamp preferred
- Previous experience in compliance with a healthcare organization preferred
