What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Technical Designer position at Basic Resources, Inc.?
The Associate Technical Designer will support the technical department by maintaining garment fit, specs and construction standards. The ideal candidate should understand sleep, lounge, and underwear garment construction for Men’s and Women’s categories. This role will interface with cross-functional team members, so we are looking for someone who has strong written and verbal communication skills. Our Associate Technical Designer will have the opportunity to multi-task in an ever-changing environment working with various apparel categories.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure and evaluate samples from Proto through TOP stage
- Identify fit, construction and patternmaking issues
- Review Fit sessions with our technical team and cross-functional partners
- Create development tech packs from store bought samples
- Send clear sample comments and corrections to overseas factories
- Daily collaborative communication with internal and cross functional teams
- Maintain organization of the physical and digital submission library
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Technical Design
- 3 years’ working experience in Technical Design
- Solid understanding of basic garment construction and grade rules and ability to apply them
- Able to maintain professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced collaborative environment
- Great organizational and follow up skills
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to be resourceful
- Experience in PLM system, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Industry Patternmaking experience is a plus
Annual salary range is starting at $65,000
