Job Description
DELIVERY DRIVER
Work Schedule 8:00 am-4:00pm Schedules are subject to change based on the operational needs of the company
- Subject to work holidays
- Route drivers guaranteed 40 hours a week, with the expectation that they assist the team when needed
- Drivers will take 30 minutes per shift for lunch
- Rest at appropriate times; two 15-minute breaks
- Continuously meet driver expectations and requirements, i.e. pre/post trip, fuel and wash truck, VIR, Radio usage, COVID procedures, secure load, honk horn when reversing,
- Operate trucks and equipment in accordance with company procedures and standards, i.e. fuel vehicle at the end of every day or plug in vehicle to CNG pump at the end of shift; turn off battery switch to the OFF position
- Comply with all safety standards and requirements, i.e. complete accident report day of accident,
- Report any safety or quality concerns to supervisor
- Ensure cart bullpen is full and ready for delivery daily
- Inspect yard and address any housekeeping needs
- Setup and repair carts and containers
- Break down and stack carts that are irreparable, on a daily basis.
- Wash carts that are dirty and place in area with other clean cans, daily.
- Conduct quarterly yard inventory for cans, front load containers and roll off.
- Disposing of extras picked up at the landfill daily.
- Maintain all CDL driver qualifications and valid drivers license
- Have a current medical card
- Maintain an acceptable MVR Motor vehicle Record
- Participate in on the job training to learn to operate other trucks and/or equipment
- Follow oral and/or written instructions
- Observe legal and defensive driving practices
- Work independently and perform duties without close supervision
- Duties as assigned, with the expectation to add reoccurring tasks to the Position Agreement
- Typically performed in the field, which requires travel daily from site to site
- The position involves work outdoors on a year-round basis and is subject to extreme weather conditions.
- May be exposed to waste, including blood-borne pathogens, insects, animals and other exterior hazards.
- The noise level is moderate to loud.
- Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach with arms and hands at or above shoulders, kneel and stretch, and the ability to climb into or exit a truck and/or other equipment.
- Lift, push, carry and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on a routine basis, and up to 90 lbs. as needed using proper lifting techniques.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to include repetitive grasping and reaching.
