Job Summary
Basis Partners Transportation Design Team is growing! This position will integrate with our very strong and capable team of Design Leads and Design Engineers to continue our firm's rapid growth. The position’s purpose is to provide the Transportation Design Practice with:
The role will manage project teams (Design Leads and Design Engineers) throughout project lifecycles, from developing winning proposals to proactively leading and managing the team through the entire project life cycle (project kickoff, budget, schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, and client communications) in support of project deliverables.
Project management: Leading Design Teams on transportation projects of all sizes. (About 50% of their time).
Business development: Manage the pursuit of potential projects, including the necessary business development to pre-position for proposals and lead proposal efforts; and to be strongly engaged with the industry and relevant organizations to maintain relationships and connections. (About 35% of time).
Staff management, operations, and planning: Supervising team, overseeing operations and planning for the group. Acquiring the necessary talent to support the business plan. (About 15% of time).

Requirements:
- B.S. Civil Engineering, P.E. (State of Colorado or the ability to obtain Colorado licensure)
- Expert knowledge and experience of Transportation Design Engineering Project Management and associated successful Business Development
- 10 years required including 6 years in project management and business development role
- Successful leadership of teams to deliver complex transportation projects based on significant past experience managing similar teams and projects
- Expertise in Transportation Design and Business Development (Drainage, Structures, Traffic and/or Roadway)
- Developing talent within department
- Setting goals, objectives, mentoring, performance feedback, career development guidance
- Identifying talent outside of organization for future hires
- Experience working with CDOT and local agencies
- Successfully building business relationships and associated opportunities through regular communication with clients, strategic pursuits, teaming partners, planning for long-term growth and workload, attendance at conference and marketing events, and engagement with industry organizations
- Developing a sales and marketing strategy and key measurements for the strategy
- Identifying new markets and the associated organizational capabilities
- Identifying, developing, and maintaining key client relationships
- Evaluating bid/no bid; risk analysis (qualitative and quantitative factors)
- Successfully supporting and collaborating with others within the organization (Design, Bridge/Structure, Construction Management and Inspection, Operations)
