$21.00 - $24.00 per hour. This position is considered non-exempt under FLSA. This is an estimated pay range. Final pay rate will be determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, job related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
Internship Details:
You’ll be joining experts in the specialty practice of Roadway and Drainage design projects.
You will be joining a dedicated Bridge Team while contributing to field inspections and then developing experience and skills in data collection, evaluation of bridge conditions, technical writing to document inspection findings, and tracking project schedules and progress.
Construction Management/Inspection
In this phase of your internship, you will be joining the CM/CI team contributing to the advancement of transportation projects while they are being built. You will be working with our Construction Inspectors as they observe the day-to-day progress of construction and in doing so, learn how to observe important aspects of daily activities, create daily diaries, measure contract pay quantities, meet with client representatives, and help solve constructability issues. Then you’ll be working side-by-side with our Project Managers who plan, coordinate, and maintain project schedules and contract terms while coordinating, communicating, and collaborating between the field team, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Throughout your internship you will have opportunities to gain a better understanding of working with public agency clients and how they differ from the private sector. This may include clients/public agencies such as:

Internship Details:
- Available to students pursuing a Civil Engineering degree and have completed Sophomore year by May 2025
- Rotational internship through 3 Transportation-Related Civil Engineering Practice Areas PLUS exposure to the business and operations sides of the company.
- Collaborate with other summer interns on a project that will solve a current business need for Basis
You’ll be joining experts in the specialty practice of Roadway and Drainage design projects.
- Understand the different types of roadway and drainage projects
- Introduction and application of Open Roads Designer (ORD) software with assigned project tasks to complete

- Understand the role that safety plays. For example, traffic control, confined spaces, even how to address snake bites!
