Avionics Technician Overview:

First shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30am-3:30pm

JOB SUMMARY
As an Avionics/Electrical Technician, you will be instrumental in converting a C-47 into a twin turbo prop aircraft, referred to as a BT-67. The Avionics team will develop a drawing package tailored to the aircrafts specific build. You will also be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing the systems that have been installed. Meanwhile, the Electrical shop will construct the aircraft according to the STC and conduct operational checks of the electrical systems. Additionally, the Avionics/Electrical shop pre-builds electrical harnesses and components for future conversions while also maintaining our own fleet of aircraft.

DUTIES

  • Maintain, inspect and repair Install, test, and troubleshoot avionics systems in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain and repair electronic systems including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
  • Fabricate components using sheet metal and hand tools as needed.
  • Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation and repairs.
  • Perform welding tasks as required for structural repairs or modifications.
  • Conduct inspections using diagnostic tools to ensure system functionality.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience, Skills, Education

  • Precision and attention to detail are crucial to avoid significant errors.
  • Collaboration with engineers, pilots, and technicians ensures seamless system function for safe air travel.
  • Background in avionics and electrical installation
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting and understanding electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Must have knowledge of HR, VHF, UHF, and sat phone communication systems.
  • Familiarity with GPS, and VHF navigation systems
  • Understanding of electrical theory is essential
  • Must possess skills in soldering.
  • An FCC GROL license must be obtained within the first year of employment.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) related to avionics.
  • Ability to fabricate components accurately based on specifications.
  • Proficient in working with sheet metal and hand tools.
  • Competent in maintaining avionics equipment with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Basic welding skills are desirable for structural modifications or repairs.
