JOB OPENING: Patient Care Technician
DESCRIPTION: Bass Audiology is a busy audiology private practice in Syracuse, IN. Every day, we help patients ranging in age from children to centenarians hear their BEST. Our values of Excellence, Empathy, Integrity, and Accountability are essential to exceed our patients' expectations.
We have an opening for a part-time patient care technician position. (There is also an optional opportunity for paid education and training to advance into an Audiology Assistant.) Candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the passion to provide a high quality standard of care. Motivation and willingness to grow while maintaining strong patient-centered care with honesty and integrity is a must. Ideal candidates would have the following characteristics:
- High School diploma or GED
- Punctual and reliable attendance
- The ability to welcome people to the practice and convey a friendly atmosphere from first contact, over the telephone or in person.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism
- Engages with patients in a caring, respectful manner
- Coachable, accepts feedback with positive attitude. Seeks to grow and improve.
- Ability to deal with numerous interruptions and prioritize duties.
- Basic computer and internet skills, i.e. browser use, Microsoft Word.
- Ability to thoughtfully communicate with other members of the office staff.
- Accurate, detail oriented, organized, with high standards for a job well done.
- Experience is important, but attitude, integrity, and personality traits are the number one priority. We will train you!
- Ability to maintain 16 hours per week with willingness to work more when covering vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES: While the ideal candidate does not need to be able to perform these tasks immediately (training will be provided) the following tasks will be performed on a regular basis:
- Greet patients entering the practice
- Answer telephone
- Schedule appointments
- Accurately enter or update patient information and hearing aid data in the office software
- Follow HIPPA-related policies and procedures regarding protected health information
- Collect and process patient payments
- Prepare FedEx, UPS, and USPS shipments
- Maintain supplies and forms
- Assisting in the lab to clean and test hearing aids
- Troubleshoot hearing aid malfunction and repair as needed
- Pair Bluetooth hearing aids to cell phones
- Follow strict infection control procedures in the lab
- Sterilize audiology tools
- Starting pay: $16.00 per hour until fully trained and working independently
