Front Desk Coordinator – Premier Gastroenterology Practice in Berkeley
Join a well-established, highly respected gastroenterology practice that has been a trusted provider of specialty GI care for over 20 years. We are seeking a dedicated Front Desk Coordinator to be the welcoming face of our Berkeley office, located in the desirable Elmwood neighborhood—a vibrant area with excellent lunch and leisure options to enjoy during breaks. About the Role
As a Front Desk Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This dynamic position requires strong multitasking skills, quick problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication. You will be responsible for:
- Patient Support & Office Reception – Greeting and assisting patients in person and over the phone, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
- Scheduling & Insurance Coordination – Gathering and verifying patient demographic and insurance information, scheduling appointments, and managing electronic medical records (EPIC).
- Daily Operations – Handling front desk responsibilities, including opening and closing duties, phone reception, and supporting clinical staff as needed.
- Procedure Assistance – Assisting with patient rooming, breath tests, and capsule endoscopy when required.
- Call Center & Medical Records – Providing phone support and assisting with records management as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Required Experience:
- Previous experience in an outpatient medical office setting is required.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software, preferably EPIC.
- Strong understanding of medical insurance processes, including PPOs, Medicare, and Workers' Compensation.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, compliance, and medical terminology.
