What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class Instructor position at Bass Pro Shops?
POSITION SUMMARY:
Will teach educational classes, fitness classes or specialized event classes for the activities and recreation departments at Big Cedar.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach guests in a group setting
- Teach private classes as needed
- Walk guests through the step by step instructions for event
- Feel comfortable working with all types of guests
- Enjoy talking in front of groups
- Get guests excited about class or event
- Provide expertise in area of class being taught
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Degree: Trade, Tech or Vocational Education in area of specialized event
Certificate(s) or License(s): Fitness instructors need proper fitness certifications for classes being taught
Years of experience: 1-2 required, 5 preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Expertise in the field of class being taught
- Public speaking
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Based on agreed class location
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
