Responsibilities:
The Manager, Revenue Cycle reports to the Director, Revenue Cycle and serves as a member of the Bassett Healthcare Network management operations team and is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a properly functioning corporate revenue cycle operation across the Bassett Healthcare Network. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with managers and leadership primarily in the Medical Group operations to optimize reimbursement. The Manager, Revenue Cycle is responsible for identifying opportunities for revenue cycle improvement, will help facilitate best practice models, including charge capture, coding utilization and denial avoidance.
- Responsible to support the daily operations of all assigned revenue cycle functions, including but not limited to billing, follow-up and collections, denial management, and coding
- Targets revenue recovery throughout the organization by identifying charge capture, coding, and reimbursement problems, then recommending/implementing solutions to achieve AO performance goals
- Analyzes and identifies reimbursement opportunities in coding trends and denials. Makes recommends and implements methods for revenue optimization
- Review provider charge patterns to identify utilization trends and variances. Provide specialty specific coding education when outliers are identified. Monitor effectiveness of education
- Performs clinical and coding reimbursement assessments to ensure revenue capture. Make recommendations to provider, leadership partners, and staff
- Demonstrates skills and proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting complex reimbursement problems
- Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures. Communicate relevant information to other departments. Establish controls and review mechanisms to ensure procedures are being followed correctly
- Ensures compliance with relevant federal, state, and payor-specific billing requirements
- Regularly provides upper management with revenue cycle status including reports, metrics, and presentation
- At all times, will comply with authorizations and limits established and approved by the President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer, and in certain areas, ratified and approved by the relevant Board such as signatory authority. Through delegated authority from President & CEO and Chief Financial Officer, shall enforce administrative, financial regulatory compliance, and human resources policies
- Monitors compliance with policies, procedures, and plans, and institutes corrective action as needed, to ensure job methods are within acceptable standards for the Network.
Education:

2 Year/Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, required
- 10 years healthcare leadership experience may be considered in lieu of education
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years management experience in healthcare with evidence of progressive leadership responsibility, required
- Minimum 5 years direct experience in finance, revenue cycle, and healthcare administration, required
- Minimum 10 years extensive experience and knowledge of physician documentation guidelines, coding education trainig and auditing procedures, required
Licensure/Certifications:
- NYS Driver's License, required

Physical Requirements:
