Job Overview

As an Electrical Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the integration, troubleshooting, and training of cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technologies. This role involves providing on-site technical support primarily in the Tupelo, MS area, with the potential for remote and on-site assistance in Huntsville, AL, as needed. You will collaborate closely with the Autonomous Vehicle Operations Team located in Georgetown, KY, and work alongside various Toyota and Raymond Forklift dealerships. Your expertise may also be called upon at different locations across North America, requiring occasional overnight travel.

Job Functions

Assist in integrating autonomous vehicle systems at customer locations across North America.
Your primary work location will be in the Blue Springs, MS area, typically without overnight travel.
Occasionally travel to various customer sites in North America for training and integration purposes, including overnight stays.
Work extensively with software applications and web interfaces to configure, optimize, and troubleshoot customer AV systems using a laptop PC.
Be present on-site at manufacturing and warehouse facilities to observe and enhance AV system performance, while also providing remote support from home as needed.
Communicate effectively with customers, preparing technical reports and documentation concerning system performance and support.

Travel Requirements

Willingness to travel overnight up to 35% of the time, with travel expenses covered by Bastian Solutions.

Preferred Skills and Required Qualifications

An associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.

At least 2 years of relevant work experience.

Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness, and self-motivation to maintain customer respect.

Comfortable using a laptop PC, voltmeter, small hand tools, and Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of Linux and TelNet is a plus.

Familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., PLCs, motors, servos, motor controllers, power circuits, RFID, encoders, sensors) is beneficial.

Basic understanding of electrical theory and mechanical design principles is a plus.

Possess strong logical and analytical thinking skills, with a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Able to mentor, coach, and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Capability to occasionally lift or move up to 70 lbs.

Must be willing to travel overnight, up to 35% of the time.

Eligible to work in the USA long-term without sponsorship.
