Summary/Objective: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist Program Manager to lead and manage a day program for veterans living with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) or other neurological dysfunctions. This role involves program planning, participant recruitment, therapeutic interventions, and collaboration with community and VA partners. The ideal candidate will have a background in neurological rehabilitation and a passion for working with veterans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
• Plan, implement, and direct a comprehensive day program for veterans.
• Recruit and enroll participants through VA and community partner channels.
• Build and maintain relationships with third-party therapeutic contractors and referral sources.
• Coordinate and execute two full days of group programming per week.
• Conduct individual goal planning, case management, and advocacy sessions.
• Collaborate with the Clinical and Program Directors to prioritize and deliver program objectives, outputs, and outcomes within budget and timeline constraints.
• Address program space issues in coordination with property management.
• Manage office supplies inventory and related purchases.
• Facilitate planning meetings with the Clinical Director to ensure alignment across the program team.
• Collect and analyze program data, track outputs, and measure outcomes.
• Propose data-driven recommendations for program improvements.
• Supervise and task Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) to support programming.
• Performs other duties and supports special projects, as needed.
Education, Experience, & Qualifications:
• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
• Licensed and registered Occupational Therapist.
• Certification in wellness and/or mindfulness practices is a plus.
• Proven experience in neurological rehabilitation.
• Background in community and mental health settings preferred.
• Veteran or military experience or connection highly preferred.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
• Analytical mindset with the ability to measure and improve program outcomes.
• Empathy and a commitment to serving the veteran community.
Work Environment & Demands:
• The position requires working in an office and group therapy environment, with occasional travel to community partner and participant locations. The role requires flexibility in adapting to varying participant needs and program demands.
• Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (e.g., program materials or supplies).
• May involve standing or walking for extended periods while some tasks may require bending, stooping, or reaching.
• Regular use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and various digital devices.
• Capacity to perform repetitive tasks; read, analyze, and interpret data; maintain visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time.
