What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Software Safety Engineer position at Bastion Technologies, Inc.?
The Sr. Software Safety Engineer will support our KoTech contract in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will provide senior-level systems and software safety engineering support for efforts to develop an upgraded warhead and fuzing system for integration with existing GMLRS guided munitions platforms for the US Army.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop systems level safety planning and execution in accordance with MIL-STD-882E, AR385-17, and the applicable Data Item Descriptions (DIDs).
- Provide tracking and status of subcontractor safety analyses and documentation.
- Coordination, integration and review of all components, subsystems and systems analyses.
- Support KoTech Integrated Product Team (IPT), Integrated Product and Process Development meetings, milestone reviews and technical interface meetings.
- Develop presentations in support of safety working groups between KORD and the government on a continual basis.
- Support program management reviews as safety engineering SME representative.
- Support safety engineering efforts to ensure system safety design criteria, the system safety design order of precedence, and safety verification processes are addressed.
- Support updates (as required) for the Government approved Hazard Analyses.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must have a bachelor's degree.
- Must have 10 years of recent and related work experience.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience with US government missile systems and software safety will be considered.

WORK LOCATION:
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule; subject to change if needed.
- This position may require some infrequent travel.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
