What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - OME Test Stand position at Bastion Technologies?

The OME Test Stand Project Manager will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Perform project management and engineering functions for development of an Orion Main Engine (OME) hot fire test stand including requirements development, hardware development, manufacturing / procurement, assembly, and test.
Manage the engineering team for the development of a test stand - Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support.
Oversee and develop schedules (MS Project and Smartsheet), procedures, work instructions and process flows.
Develop risks and risk mitigation plans for rollup into the higher-level risk system.
Interact frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, and operational customers.
Other duties as assigned.

This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.

Must have 5 years of recent and related work experience.

Related experience in managing and leading engineering projects. License or certification is a plus.

Experience in liquid propulsion engines and testing.

Experience managing and leading engineering projects.

Experience with financial reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating.

Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.

Ability to work independently and autonomously and track tasks and issues to completion.

Knowledge and understanding of MS Project and Smartsheet tools.

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, materials, environmental testing, and office software.

DESIRED :

10 years of experience in project management for mid-level projects.

5 years of propulsion design and testing experience.

General knowledge of structures and test stands.

General knowledge of systems engineering through education or work experience.

Knowledge of flight hardware and / or flight processes / paperwork.

Experience with NASA processes.

WORK LOCATION :

This position is located onsite.

This position offers a 9 / 80 schedule, every other Friday off.

This position may require some travel.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED :

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification / check process.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED :

All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.

STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS :

Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

All of Bastion's employees must be team players.

Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.

Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.

Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.

Must be organized with good time management skills.

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).

May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.

Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
