What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Engineer (BT-25054) position at Bastion Technologies?
The Safety Engineer supports the Occupational Safety, Health, Medical, Systems Safety and Mission Assurance contract at NASA Ames Research Center (ARC) in Mountain View, CA. This position will support numerous Occupational Safety programs at a primarily research facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute the Occupational Safety task orders following the requirements, deliverables, and deadlines provided by the customer.
- Provide monthly metrics of deliverables to the customer as
- Support, develop, implement, consult, audit, report and train on a variety of safety
- Programs may include: mishap investigation, confined space, lifting devices, electrical safety, lock- out/tag-out, heavy equipment safety, fall protection, facility safety, ergonomics, machine guarding, office safety, and explosive safety
- Deliver various safety related trainings to classes of 3-30
- Interact with NASA personnel to ensure a consistent understanding of regulatory and procedure
- Ensure adherence to NASA's established safety standard by providing direction and integrating NASA's safety program into workplace practices.
- Identify and address safety-related issues/hazards in lab, shop, and office spaces by applying problem-solving skills and adapting to the situation at hand.
- Present audit results/recommendations to supervisors and senior
- Proactively plan and implement measures to mitigate risk and foster further development of the safety
- Effectively manage competing priorities to guarantee requirements are achieved and objectives are
- Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements among the organization; develop solutions and provide clarification where rule ambiguity exists.

REQUIRED:
- This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related
- Must have a bachelor's degree in a Science or Engineering related
- Must have 3 years of recent and related work experience managing or implementing safety
- Must have experience writing and reviewing technical reports that follow standard scientific
- Excel in effective and clear communication with individuals and organizations across a range of backgrounds and

- Knowledge of additional Microsoft data analytic tools (Power BI, VBA, )
- Experience working as a government contractor or on government
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Indoor air quality experience

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

SALARY RANGE: $120K - $135K/Yr.
