What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Modeling Engineer -Orbital Debris position at Bastion Technologies?
The Senior Orbital Debris Modeling Engineer will support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. This senior level role will serve as a principal debris research engineer / scientist, spanning measurements, modeling, and mitigation of the environment. The successful applicant shall provide scientific insight and leadership within NASA's effort to understand the orbital debris environment and develop measures to control debris growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop, document, maintain, and operate software models and databases of the orbital debris environment.
- Provide data analysis for measurement data in direct support of orbital debris / space object engineering models.
- Work closely with JETS-2 Orbital Debris Research & Science Operations (ODRSO) colleagues and NASA Orbital Debris Program Office (ODPO) customers.
- Present work products to customers and counterparts (written & verbal).
- Support and participate in technical interchange meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
