POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Specialist is responsible for interacting directly with students and prospective students regarding admissions requirements, including evaluating student transcripts, performing data entry, assisting the customer service team, and assisting students with the application process.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in maintaining complex database systems of applicant records, such as the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Student Information System (SIS)
- Coordinates with admissions office and enrollment services to facilitate consistent delivery of admissions services. Cross-trained in all Admissions positions to provide coverage for teams
- Participates in campus recruitment opportunities, such as tours, open houses, and new student orientations
- Prepare applicant files for review by the corresponding advisor and assist with transcript evaluation. Coordinate the application and document submission of prospective students.
- Process application documentation, including I-20s, transcripts, decision letters, etc
- Produce reports for recruitment and retention purposes
- Answer and direct a large call volume for Student Services and Reception
- Respond to prospect, applicant, and current student correspondences via phone or email
- Collaborate with other departments as needed for program and data accuracy
- Communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to prospect and applicant needs within a timely manner
- Assist in organizing both paper and electronic files
- Assist other Enrollment Services departments as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in records/data management and use of CRM and SIS platforms such as Salesforce, PeopleSoft, HubSpot, CAMS Enterprise, etc.
- Success in delivering high quality customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (I.e., Word, Excel, SharePoint, Forms, etc.)
- Knowledge of CRM/SIS best practices within higher education
- Knowledge of how diversity, equity and inclusion play a role in the admissions process
- Highly organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to produce high quality work results that are accurate and error-free
