Position Summary
Bastyr University, a private regionally accredited institution, is accepting applications for a core faculty position in the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) Program at Bastyr University’s San Diego campus. This is a full-time faculty position that includes didactic and clinical teaching.
Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates flexible, current and innovative inclusive curriculum design, development and delivery. Establish critical assessment of learning and teaching materials.
- Active engagement in student mentorship, university committee activities
- Ongoing communication and collaboration with other faculty, faculty chairs and dean (including cross-campus collaboration)
- Attendance and participation in any required trainings and monthly faculty meetings
- Supervise students in clinic, providing guidance and critical feedback on patient care on the tenets of evidence- informed care
- Assess students on clinical skills based on CNME standards
- Clinic, teaching and additional service responsibilities may involve weekends and evenings. Actively stays up to date with discipline knowledge and developments
Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements
- ND degree from an CNME approved institution
- License, certification, registration in California or Washington (or at least the ability to receive one within 3 months)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed ND
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific experience in leading curriculum design and development, student and course evaluation, student assessment and curriculum mapping with respect to competencies and milestones
- Demonstrated service to the growth of Naturopathic Medicine
- Knowledge and experience with various teaching methodologies such as problem-based learning, team-based learning, case-based learning, technology-assisted learning, and flipped classroom design
- Flexibility in fulfilling programmatic and university needs

Benefits:
All regular employees (faculty and staff) who work at least 20 hours a week in a permanent position are full benefits eligible.
