Building Maintenance Engineer
Position Summary
The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems across our university campus. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation of facilities while providing excellent service to our campus community including faculty, staff, and students.

Essential Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Monitor equipment performance, conduct regular inspections, and maintain detailed maintenance records.

Respond to and complete work orders from across the Kenmore campus pr at the Seattle Clinic in a timely manner, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and impact. Document all maintenance activities and repairs in the work order system.

Install, maintain, and repair various building components including lighting systems, electrical circuits, plumbing fixtures, pumps, motors, and basic construction elements while following all applicable codes and safety regulations.

Collaborate with facilities team members on larger projects and assist in coordinating with outside contractors when specialized repairs are needed. Travel occasionally to secondary campus locations to perform maintenance work.

Support residential facilities by responding to maintenance requests in dormitories, ensuring a comfortable living environment for students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.

Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency repairs and after-hours building issues as needed. Respond to emergency situations promptly and appropriately.

Experience cutting and managing key room a plus.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in facilities management, engineering technology, or related field preferred.

3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, facilities operations, or related field.

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Proficiency with building automation systems and work order management software.
Preferred Qualifications
