Job Summary:
The Dance Instructor is responsible for planning and implementing dance classes for youth ages 14 months-teen age groups.
Responsibilities:
- Create lesson plans and instruct various dance classes, i.e. ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre and mommy and me.
- Research new ideas and techniques for dance instruction and creative movement games.
- Provide a fun, encouraging and safe environment to learn the essentials of various types of dance.
- Choreograph recital numbers; choose music and costumes for performances.
- Measure students for costumes and choose sizes.
- Communicate with parents on any questions they may have and report concerns and positive feedback regarding students.
- Responsible for the completion and collection of all medical forms from students.
- Meet with dance instructors and supervisor regarding programs.
- Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District's safety program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience teaching dance.
- Minimum of five years of dance training.
- Minimum of two years of dance instruction.
- Certification of CPR & First Aid.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Physical ability to move up to 35 lbs.
Work Schedule: Days and times vary.
Hourly Rate: $15.00-$20.00 (hourly) Based on experience.
Job Type: Part-time; Not benefit eligible.
