Job Summary:
Under the supervision of and at the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, the Head Quarry Cashier oversees the day-to-day activity of Quarry admissions and concessions, including the supervision of concession attendants, cashiers, and paddleboats attendants. The Head Quarry Cashier is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined in this job description and other duties as assigned. The Head Casher is a seasonal parttime employee.
Essential Functions:
1. Supervise the day-to-day operations of admissions and concessions.
2. Supervise admission, concession, and paddle boat staff to ensure duties are performed as required by their job descriptions.
3. Schedule admission, concession, and paddleboat staff.
4. In conjunction with or at the direction of, complete staff evaluations at the end of season.
5. Enforce all facility rules and District policies and procedures.
6. Ensures that cash control policies and procedures are followed.
7. Disburse cash to admissions and concessions, balance cash drawer at end of each shift, complete all paperwork as required by Finance, and prepare the deposit.
8. Supervise the preparation of concession food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
9. Ensure the overall cleanliness of the food preparation and concession area.
10.Monitor inventory of food, drink, and other supplies daily.
11.Shop for concession supplies when needed.
12.Act decisively in emergency situations, responding calmly and quickly under pressure.
13.Communicate openly and regularly with Recreation Supervisor.
14.Demonstrate and promote positive guest relations and exceptional customer service.
15.Answer phone calls and provide accurate information.
16.Promote a positive teamwork environment for all staff.
17.Inform all staff of any changes in policy, procedure, or rules as directed by the Recreation Supervisor.
18.Conduct training and staff meetings during the season as directed.
19.Direct patrons in the event of an emergency, such as fire or severe weather.
20.Communicate staff and facility issues in a timely manner.
21.Assist in organizing all pre-season training.
22.Attend pre-season training.
23.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
24.Assist with special events as necessary.
25.Additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High School graduate with some college course work preferred. Two years of cashier experience required. Applicants 17 or older preferred and/or based on previous work experience at the Quarry. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Must obtain the Food Safety Manager Certification.
2. Advanced understanding of admissions and cash handling.
3. CPR/First Aid certified.
4. Basic computer knowledge and skills.
5. Ability to communicate with the public.
6. Ability to work positively with customers and staff under stressful conditions.
7. Problem-solving skills.
8. Understand and anticipate customer’s needs as well as support a customer service environment.
9. Ability to portray a professional image of the District.
10. Perform all job and tasks within guidelines and rules of District’s safety program.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Starting Rate: $15.75 (hourly may vary depending on experience and qualifications)
