The Batavia Park District was established in 1969 through voter referendum. Since its establishment, the Park District maintains and operates approximately 400 acres, comprised of 40 sites, an in-line skating/skateboarding park, a unique aquatic facility, a museum and a multitude of baseball and soccer fields and tennis and basketball courts. Non-Exempt Job Summary:
The Assistant Preschool Instructor is responsible for assisting the Head Instructor in any activity or duty needed in the classroom.
Essential Functions:

Supervise children in classroom and outdoors

Prepare daily craft activities for classes

Physically set up, take down and clean up class room for activities, including large motor activities and snacks

Assist students in bathroom

Comfort ill children and contact parents to inform them of child’s illness

Make copies and organize all paperwork that is sent home with students

Support teacher when needed with students

Keep track of attendance

Perform all jobs and tasks within guidelines and rules of District’s safety program
Education and Experience:
This position requires a High School diploma and one year of experience working with preschool aged children.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to manage and lead children in a classroom environment

Flexible and creative to capture classrooms attention

Certification in First Aid, CPR

Ability to communicate with the public
-
Understand and anticipate customer’s needs as well as support a customer service environment

Ability to portray a professional image of the District
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Majority of time spent standing, walking, and moving.
Most activities are performed indoors, exposure to weather conditions during outdoor play time activities.
May be exposed to excessive noise from children, music Exposed to mild chemicals when cleaning
May be required to assist with set up of programs and classrooms which may include bending, reaching, lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs.
Scheduling, pay and benefits
Part-Time, Non-Exempt position
Hours: Monday - Friday AM position hours 8:30am - 12:30pm
PM position hours 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Pay Range: $16.00 - $18.00 DOQ
Benefits: Use of Programs and Facilities - 10 punch pass for Hall Quarry Beach, 25% discount on in-house programs up to $400, 50% discount on all fitness and yoga classes and resident rate on all contractual & trips.
