Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and professional Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our team. The Legal Assistant or Paralegal will play a key role in supporting attorneys and the legal team by managing administrative tasks, greeting clients, and handling communications. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys interacting with clients and colleagues. This position will start in early to mid March.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients by greeting them warmly in person and over the phone.
- Answer and direct phone calls, ensuring efficient communication.
- Manage client files and maintain accurate records.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate communication between attorneys and clients.
- Perform conflict checks and update case management systems.
- Draft and format legal correspondence and routine documents under attorney supervision.
- Organize attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
- Prepare and organize documents for meetings and hearings.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and mail.
- Assist with general office tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and scanning.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF software.
- Strong communication skills, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Prior experience in an office or legal environment is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
